My 4th grade classroom 2014-2015
Love this little reading area. And to think I almost got rid of that bench because I didn't like way it looked. So glad I kept it. Turned out perfect
The above three pictures are the front of my classroom. My whole group meeting area and white board. My little teacher is peeking out some behind there. Look at those birds nests on the cabinet..so cute. Those are my jobs for students.
My writing desk for students, along with the word wall. I have a small wooden bench for students to sit on and read. The blue bins are for student read to self book bags. Above the bench is writers workshop writing stages (publish is missing). Students place their personal clip on the stage they are currently writing in.
"living Room"....My favorite area! To the left in the green bins are picture books sorted by genre. The bulletin board is for student writing. This year I did decorate my filing cabinet (ran out of blue flowers for the bottom drawer and can't find them anywhere.) Turned out sooo cute. The owl painting is something my mom made for me last year. She is an amazing artist.
View from my front door. The hanging birds in their birds nests labels the tables for me (I got this idea from school girl style.) Daily 5 back wall is where I hang our anchor I charts.
My cute little teacher area. I do not clutter my classroom with one of those huge desks. I keep to just a simple computer desk. This year I covered it with fabric to hide all the cords and my printer.
focus Wall with two computers
Another picture of my writing area.
Leveled (DRA and guided reading) books for Good Fit Books. Green baskets are the leveled books (two sides). The front facing chapter books are organized by genre or author.
Another cute picture of my living room and filing cabinet. This year I have invited students to bring in personal art work or pictures to make the classroom their own. The pink and yellow piece is from one of my students.
Out side of the classroom bulletin board. The students this week did a bioglyph on cardstock kid shapes. Turned out sooo cute. This is the board I stapled them to.
Another view of my classroom. Those tall cabinets are where I put the CAFE menu.

The past two weeks have been very busy. For those that don't know I am a 4th grade reading and writing teacher for Dallas ISD. I love it and it truly is my passion and calling. I just started my 13th year. I love to design classrooms and offices.
This year I did some different elements to my classrooms to make it feel homey and inviting!

WOOHOO!!!! I got it working! All it took me was not being lazy and getting to a "real" computer versus my ipad.
Right now I am obsessed with hearts and arrows. I got the inspiration for these necklaces from Bon Jovi's "Bad Medicine."

But it's now the summer so I will try to keep up with it more. Glad to see the etsy link updated itself! Ill post more throughout the summer, especially what I've been working on.

Raggedy Ann, Birds and Fairies.....Oh My!!!!
Hello Bloggers......
This weekend my mother surprised me with some great finds she came accross at the Bowie, Texas Big Red Barn!!!!!!! She is awesome!
She found a whole sack full of game pieces from the 1978 Raggedy Ann and Andy Board Game. They are awesome and unique. I've used a couple to make some cute and whimsical cards.
Also looking through my huge stack of pattered paper, I found this really cool Spring paper from Graphic 45. It had faries and bunnies all over the page. The faries were so pretty, I decided to show each one off individually by making tags. I created the same background for all 4 tags (light blue paper and antique linen french script writing stamped.) Fairy Dust just had to be somewhere, so each set of fairy wings and the underside of the bird got a dusting of glitter. I think they have turned out just darling!
All of these can be found on my etsy account.

Good Morning,
Got a few new supplies yesterday from Fleamarketfloozie on ETSY. She packages some of the greatest vintage matierls. Her Bitty Kits are so cute and fun to get and go through. In this latest kit I got, there was 12 inches of hand dyed and sewed crinkle crepe paper ribbon. LOVE IT! The pink tag below was created using the crepe paper and a stamp I got from the McKinney flea Market. It is a set of four small stamps from StampIt Up. They are dictionary styled stamps; cherish, friend, thank you and love. Not only did I make the tag, I also made a matching card.
I hope to do some more "pickin'" this weekend, if I can talk Derek into it. Cooper is going to my parents Ranch for the weekend. He doens't know it yet, but they got him is first beebee (sp?) gun. Should be interesting:)
Have a great weekend, Do something you love!

New Card to the Collection
Hello, I hope everyones weekend was super fantastic. I have been so busy with back to school institutes and just plan preparing for my classroom, that I haven't crafted anything in over a week, UNTIL!!! A Crafty Little Place posted a challenge to create a vintage card. SCROLL to the bottom to see it. If you see any of my cards on facebook you know that I LOVE VINTAGE inspired crafts. On many of my cards I use my great and great, great grandmothers crochet and tatting.
This week I am partaking in a reading institute for us reading coaches, so I probably won't be on here much this----SOOOOO have a great week everyone!
Love,
Crystal

Waxahachie Scrapbook Store
Today I recovered from my shopping adventure with a teacher friend of mine, Ericka. We drove to Waxahachie, Texas to see their BIG scrapbook store. Had a great time. Founds some great vintage looking sticker, some October Afternoon papers and Sassafrass papers. It was great spending time with a friend doing something we both love to doing: well spending money and scrapbook supplies. Here are two cards I made a while ago.
Today is my moms birthday and tomorrow is my father in laws. I have made them both a card and my mom a birthday tin. I will show these after they both have recieved them. Have a great weekend!!!

Busy, Busy, Busy
I didn't realize that having a baby, a five your old and starting a little card company was going to be so taxing! I have made absolutely nothing since Saturday. I'm right now planning out my classroom design for this school year. I think I'm going to put my Create a Criter cartridge to good use, and have my theme as woodland creatures. I've talked to my dad about making me some tree trunk seating and a little table. Cute, huh? I'm working on the kiddos take home folders right now and a Welcome to First Grade banner.
I'll post classroom materials when I get them ready. And hopefully some new cards!!!
